30 ינו Such a perfect day
This is another kind of post.
For start - it is in English.
It tells a story of a grown up student, who decided to celebrate her 40th year with entering the world of Guatemalan university life and shatter her world.
Up until last year, her days were tranquil, peaceful and eventless. I mean, if you can call being a mother for 3 eventless..
But this year, to being a Mom and a Wife joined the description of being a University Student too.
How does it work? let me tell you about an average day, happened only last week.
It all started at 2am. My 5yr old crawled into our bed, looking for some warmth.
At 2:30 she complained she is too hot, and the Great Blanket War began while she was trying to kick the blanket of her feet, while I was trying to keep it on my shoulders (which lying down, are located in the same place as her feet).
At 3am the human oven, greatly known as my husband (aka prince charming or king of the castle), left the bed and a big relief sigh was heard from the bed habitants.
At 5:30am I rose to start my day, leaving a 5yr old all by herself on the big bed, where she looked completely comfortable.
At 6:30 I tried to wake up 2 tweens, who insisted on staying in bed.
At 7am I tried not to fall asleep in traffic.
At 9am I sat at the dentist office, getting probed and slowly tortured, on my own accord.
At 10am I couldn't feel half my mouth, and speaking Spanish with a rambling R' was a funny task to hold. in fact, even drinking water and keeping it all in was rather hilarious.
And then classes began, and I was 100% student.
At 2pm I was back home, after a short stop for food shopping on the way home.
a shopping list |
At 5pm I was out again, taking my 1st born to her karate class.
At 7pm I was back home.
At 7:15 I was on my way to meet some friends in a restaurant in the city.
a night out with the girls Can you see my mouth flopping to the side? it sure feels like it |
At 11pm I was back home. Again.
At 2am a 5yr old has crawled into our bed.
Now, I owe you an apology. this is not an average day. Not everyday I take myself to the dentist, or ending it with a night out with friends. It is rather an extraordinary day, but one that I felt the urge to complain about, because that's what I do best. Complain.
But it is also a good example how a day of an overachieving, overexcited, overall mom, who thinks she can hold it all and still stay alive, looks like.
after all, looking like that, who will not love the studential life |
Kisses, <3 Einat
And one last thing: next post will be again in Hebrew, unless I will try to write it in Spanish. If this will happen, I expect some kind of reward. A day in the spa will suffice.
For leisure listening, I have found the perfect song, for this kind of a perfect day
